The New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center and Harriet Tubman National Historical Park, both of Auburn, NY, are pleased to present, Dr. Carolyn Roberts, a historian of medicine and science at Yale University.

Dr. Roberts will speak about her upcoming book, To Heal and To Harm: Medicine, Knowledge, and Power in the British Slave Trade. Her research interests concern the relationship between race and medicine, which she explores by way of slavery and the slave trade, natural history and botany, and African-descended knowledge in the Atlantic world.
