Presided over by Reverend Paris Price, the Harriet Tubman Day Memorial Service event will take place at the Harriet Tubman Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and feature spoken word, liturgical dancing, gospel choir, and more performances; free to the public, livestreamed. This church remains the same congregation Tubman was a member of at the Thompson Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church on Parker Street, where Tubman’s funeral service was held prior to her burial in Fort Hill Cemetery; and although under construction, this historic Parker Street site is part of the Harriet Tubman National Historical Park.
