Experience A Walk in Her Shoes
The Harriet Tubman National Historical Park and Seward House Museum welcome documentarian Metra Lundy to Auburn, where she filmed part of her powerful A Walk In Her Shoes in 2019.
Inspired by Harriet Tubman’s journeys on the Underground Railroad, Lundy recreated one, often on foot, traveling from Maryland to Canada. Her feature was the winner of the 2021 Socially Relevant Film Festival. Lundy will lead a discussion with the audience after this free public screening.
A Walk in Her Shoes is a full feature film that shares one woman’s intimate story of personal discovery, empowerment, and triumph. In a quest to overcome one of the biggest obstacles of her life, Lundy simulates a walk to freedom by re-tracing the steps of the great American heroine, Harriet Tubman. In doing so, Lundy discovers who she really is.
